Hello,

a bit about me:

Thank you for taking the time to allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Joe Druga and I am an experienced youth minister who is looking for a ministry position.  As a 2006 graduate of Central Christian College of the Bible and with 5 years of youth and family experience I believe I would be a good fit for your ministry team.

My past experience in youth and family ministry has helped shape who I am and my vision for Family Ministry.  I strongly believe the church needs to learn and adapt to ministering to families.  Parents really are the strongest influence in any kid's life.  A church who partners with parents to bring up the next generations will make a greater impact for the kingdom.  Deuteronomy 6 is filled with wisdom about passing along God’s commands from generation to generation.  We all need to have a passion to love God and love people.  And Moses says that we need to impress these things on our children as well.  Jesus tells us again just how important it is to pass along God’s wisdom to others when he gave us his Great Commandment.   My vision for family ministry really stems from this passing of the torch.

When I think about a church that loves God and loves people it is a church that has focused efforts to disciple others.  There is not one program or one service that can effectively disciple each person because we are all in different places with our maturity or walk with Christ.  Everyone has different backgrounds and everyone is going through unique circumstances which are oddly not all that unique.  As a church, and a family ministry in particular, it will start with people who are devoted to helping disciple others.  Family ministry really starts with parents who are being mentored to impress God’s commands on their children.  I really believe that as a church we should not just continue to teach, but we should be focused on teaching others to teach others.

As a Family ministry it is important to create environments that kids are excited to be at.  They are excited because it’s fun, engaging, and it speaks to their level.  Every kid needs a place to be in awe of the Wonder of God, to Discover who they are in Christ, and learn to live with Passion.  Parents who will engage in some of the same environments and continue more conversations at home will make a greater impact in the lives of the kids.  The church can get behind parents and encourage and mentor them through the parenting years.  It really is generations teaching the next generation to teach the next generation.

Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
